Rolex Swan Cup

The Rolex Swan Cup 2014 is taking place between the 8 – 14 September. This year, the prestigious event will host the Gazprom Swan 60 Class and form the third event of the 2014 Gazprom Swan 60 Class Circuit.

Founded in 1980, the biennial Rolex Swan Cup attracts Nautor’s Swan yachts from all over the world; in recent years the Swan fleet has regularly topped 100 yachts ranging from 37 to 112 feet (11 to 35 metres) in length and from early designs by Sparkman and Stephens to hi-tech one-design craft. The fleet are divided into categories according to the size and age of the participating yachts.

Organizers the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda schedule a series of courses along the rugged Sardinian coastline and around the many islands and islets of the La Maddalena Archipelago for the five days of racing, with a long race that could take the fleet as far as the French islands off Corsica also scheduled during the event.

Competitors will also experience the glamour of Porto Cervo, Sardinia with a full on-shore social agenda.
