Tim Kröger has confirmed to
race on-board Swan 60, Spirit of Europe at the upcoming 34 Copa del Rey MAPFRE
with racing scheduled for the first week of August in Palma, Spain.
Tim has over 2000,000 nautical
miles of sailing on his CV. One of the
most experienced and successful German offshore sailors, Tim has competed in
numerous Whitbread Round the World and Volvo Ocean Races as well as the
America’s Cup. He also won the Admiral’s
Cup in 1983 being awarded the Silver Laurel, Germany’s top sporting award, and
became a World Champion in 1995.
The German sailor has been
involved with the Gazprom Swan 60 Class since its inception in 2012 and brings
a wealth of new entries to the circuit on an annual basis. Spirit of Europe
will be racing in Palma Bay with 135 teams from 23 different nationalities
hosted by the Real Club Nautico de Palma.
