Today was action packed at the Gazprom Swan 60 World Championship, races 5 and 6 were held in the stronger winds of Scarlino, with gusts over 20 knots ensuring thrills and spills on the race track.

Race 5 saw a change in the podium placing with Bronenosec dropping to a 3^rd, unheard of in their clean score card. The stronger winds favoured Leonardo Ferragamo's entry, Spirit of Europe with a fantastic 2^nd place showing skilled big breeze race handling. It was also an excellent day for Vertical Smile from Denmark, Peter Lerbrandt has really owned the podium at this year's worlds another excellent performance saw him win the first race of today.

Race 6 was an afternoon affair following a postponement ashore and time for crews to refuel at Marina di Scarlino after a tough race first thing. Bronenosec re-claimed their preferred position at the front of the fleet taking 1^st. Vertical Smile's consistent determination ensured a 2^nd, providing the Danish team with a really outstanding day for points. Petite Flamme racing with Spanish Olympic super star, Luis Doreste, started to push their nose back into the top 3 by the end of today finishing 3^rd in the final race.

Overall Igor Frolov skipper of Bronenosec is still comfortable at the top, a safe 5 points ahead of the dangerous Danes racing Vertical Smile in 2^nd place. The Gazprom Youth Sailing Challenge has really raced an outstanding series this week to stay in the top 3 of such a competitive class and demonstrates their commitment to training with hours afloat as a team. Their worst result was 5^th at the end of a long day today and they will have to work incredibly hard tomorrow on the last defining day of the Worlds to stand proudly on the podium at the final prize giving.

The teams will all be heading to the crew party tonight beach side at Cala Felice for drinks, food and dancing with the DJ into the night under the stars of Scarlino.
